Hello,
Google meet defaults to 4:3 due to a fallback. The easiest way to fix this is to go to a google meet call, click the 3 vertical dots (more options) > settings > video. After that, look for a Send resolution (maximum) and change it from 360 to 720p (360p does 4:3, 720 usually gives 16:9)
If that doesn't work, try turning off auto framing by going to google meet settings > video, then look for Framing or Auto-framing and toggle it Off.
Next, if Firefox still defaults to 4:3 even with 720p, try going to about:config, and accept warning (use at own discretion) and then search for media.navigator.video.default_width and media.navigator.video.default_height. make sure that width and height are set to default values like 1280x720.
