closed tabs reappear on opening new firefox

Hello,
First, Firefox might be set to restore your previous session on startup. To disable it, go to menu (in the top-right corner), then go to Settings > Home, and under startup, look for Open previous windows and tabs and uncheck or change it so it does not automatically restore the last session.
Next, go to Add-ons and themes (Ctrl + Shift + A), and check if there are any screensaver or tab management extensions on. If so, disable it (if applicable).
Next, it is possible that Firefox was configured to open multiple homepages from startup. settings>Home, and under homepage and new windows, check if your URLs include those unwanted tabs or are set to Custom URLs. Reset the URLs if true.
If all your settings are correct but it keeps loading old tabs, the session cache is probably stuck or corrupted. First, go to about:support , find Profile Folder, and click Open Folder. Next, keep the folder open, but close Firefox. Then, find a folder named sessionstore-backups or files named sessionstore.jsonlz4, and move those files/folders to a seperated folder from the application as backup. After that, try launching Firefox again.
