After updating to VER 149 I can't receive or send emails
After I installed Thunderbird VER 149 update I cannot receive or send email on my desktop. I have the same software and settings on my laptop and desktop except that my laptop has ver 148 whereas the desktop has 149. I posed this question last week and "Matt" responded" and suggested that perhaps Norton was blocking my emails. I have not used Norton for over 30 years but I do use AVG . I tried the following , I suspended AVG antivirus and firewall, I uninstalled TB and reinstalled it more than a doz times, I restored a backup of my Profiles from a February backup when my desktop was working fine, I tried to find and install a previous version of TB but every effort redirected me to the current Ver 149. It would appear the VER 149 has a bug that is preventing me from receiving or sending emails.
Any suggestions for a resolution will be greatly appreciated.

You haven't provided enough information for me to try to troubleshoot the connection issue, but can tell you that older versions of Thunderbird can be found here:
https://releases.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/
To downgrade Thunderbird:
1) Delete compatibility.ini from Thunderbird's profile folder:
a) Open Thunderbird b) Open the Troubleshooting page via Menu -> Help -> Troubleshooting information c) Click Profile Folder -> Open folder d) Close Thunderbird e) At this point you should make a backup of everything in this folder just in case anything goes wrong f) Delete the COMPATIBILITY.INI file from the folder
2) Download your preferred version of the Thunderbird installer from < https://releases.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ >
3) Use the installer to reinstall the older version (overwriting the newer version.)
4) Launch the now-downgraded Thunderbird
