message tabs disappear after update
Hi, I will just open with a notice to Mozilla - I would happily donate to your work IF..... There are a number of irritating features I encounter using Thunderbird but one of the most infuriating is that when updating, any message tabs that were previously open disappear - when surely it must be possible to locate these in a straightforward data file somewhere - ready to populate automatically or even manually would be appreciated? At least, Firefox, after a bit of searching does keep a list of history..... but who wants to open ALL tabs in any period of history regardless of whether they were open when the update occurred.
Colours of anything and everything could be varied to speed up and simplify use? Server settings are all over the place... taking longer to enter/locate and edit than they ever should..... seeing a list of every setting inside a postage-stamp box without being able to even see much of it - after all these years surely you can over-rule Microsoft? Avoid kowtowing to monopolies!
I must get on with proper work so will stop moaning now... but my first line stands - get things professional and smoother with greatly increased options and I'll (probably like many others) be keen to give financial support!
Warmest wishes, Tom

Just a passing comment: you are stating that, if Thunderbird does everything you want, then you will give a donation. Until then, you will continue using it for free. That isn't how businesses usually survive. The kind people who donate, and continue to donate, are those who want Thunderbird to thrive and continue. There can be no motivation to what you propose, developing all you want with no contribution from you, only to possibly receive a donation later. Of course, I am not a developer, so you needn't worry on my account. I should also state, this is not the forum where developers look for suggestions. That is at connect.mozilla.org, under the IDEAS category. All the best to you.
