I am using a very old version of Firefox, 3.5.3, on another computer because it is REQUIRED by software I'm running. How do I turn of automatic update so I do not have to uninstalled current Firefox version and install 3.5.3 every time I want to use the software?

Won't be giving you   'the lecture'   about running an old version   .....

Go to :   3-bar menu => Advanced => Update tab

Under   'Firefox Updates'  : check :   'Never check for updates'

Under   'Show Update History' : uncheck   'Use a background service to install updates'
