I just installed a new iMac, and am running the latest Apple OSX. I just noticed that there is no Thunderbird folder in my Library folder, and when I search for a Thunderbird folder on my hard drive, the search turns up nothing. However, I can use Thunderbird with no problem; just cannot find the folder that I need to open. I am running the latest version of Thunderbird. Can anyone help?

What are you trying to achieve in the first place?

What I am trying to achieve in the first place is to repair a problem I am having with the archive function in Thunderbird. I cannot archive my email. When I highlight an email header, then click on archive, nothing happens. The same is true when I right click on the header and click on archive in the drop down. Several forums say this problem can be corrected by accessing the Thunderbird folder in Library. The problem is there is no Thunderbird folder in Library. Obviously, this folder is somewhere on my hard drive but I cannot find it so I can open it and correct the archive problem.

Where is mail account stored: Right click on mail account in folder Pane and select 'Settings'. click on 'Server Settings' for the mail account. Bottom right - 'Local directory' - this is where the mail account is located. more info:

You need to have hidden files and folders visible - scroll down to MAC OS X section:

Help > Troubleshooting Information click on 'Show folders' button

Re: Archiving Q1. Is this a POP or IMAP mail account ? Q2. Is it a gmail account?

Q3. Right click on mail account in folder Pane and select 'Settings'. click on 'Copies & Folders' for the mail account. Paste an image of your current selections or type all the info so that we know exactly what you currently have set up.

Q4. Have you set up your 'Archive Options' ?
