Am not getting any new email alerts which is somewhat annoying. Thinking about uninstalling FF then reinstalling FF. Use Yahoo uk.. If I uninstall would I lose all my email contacts and sent/received email messages?

Your Yahoo contacts are tied to your Yahoo account and should not be lost if you reinstall.
