I recently strengthened all my passwords. I used FF on my Mac to accomplish the task and synced the new passwords to Firefox for iOs on my iPhone. I hit the button for autofill passwords, but autofill doesn't work. Often I get a message saying I must have a "passcode-enabled" device. I have that, if they mean the passcode for starting the iPhone after it's been turned off. Wassa matta? Thank you.

This happens on both iOS and iPadOS. It is inefficient, obtrusive, and (to be civil) annoying. To see an example, go to https://www.techmeme.com which is an aggregator for tech journalism. For each headline you’ll note after it a series of links to various stories on the same topic. For example, say Bloomberg publishes an article on Apple and Google getting together on AI. After the link to that headline, Techmeme carries a series of links to similar stories elsewhere, like Verge, PCMag, ABCnews, New York Times, and on, and on…

Now, here’s the rub. View Techmeme in Safari. Touch one of the links after the headline. The browser pops right into that source. Now try in Firefox. I get a popup citing the other source’s article title and maybe author. I haven’t a hint as to what to do to get to the selected source. I may touch the link again and get the source’s home page/table of contents; I may touch the writer’s name and get a bio; or other things: hard to get to the target. When I get back to the Firefox display of the Techmeme site, it takes a time-consuming amount of tapping to get the little popup for *this* article to vanish. Tedious!

I know Firefox wants to protect me from wicked creatures great and small. But this is too much. Efficiency is king in my aggregator browsing: Techmeme, Memeorandum, Mediagazer, wesmirch are four examples.

How can I control the bubbles?

I'm having the same problem as this guy.

I have a large number of open tabs in Firefox on my iPhone, a mixture of old and very old. I've been trying to go through the tabs and deal with them -- in some sense they are all todo items that I left open at least semi-deliberately.

If I tap on a thumbnail to load a tab, Firefox instead loads a blank page. If I tap the address bar after that, Firefox loads the new tab page, not the site corresponding to the tab that I selected. If I tap and hold a tab's thumbnail, Firefox crashes.

It was the case temporarily (possibly a bug) that some of these tabs would place a TLS failure icon in the left of the address bar when selected, while the blank page was displayed. Tapping on that would display the tab title, but not the tab URL. No longer is that TLS failure icon ever visible.

Since the last update (123.4) I have this behavior in both iPadOS and iOS: when there's a link that opens in a new tab, most of the time the new tab will open an about:blank page instead of the actual link.

I noticed this happens as I use the browser more: if I force close it and reopen it, the links will usually load OK for the first 1-4 sites, but after a period (or loading a "heavy" site la Facebook) I can reproduce the error 90% of the time.

Happens on iPad Air 3 and iPhone 13 mini.

Here's a screen recording of this behavior: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0289O_mRO-taFjm4tcOH3bAtQ

Recently on my older iPad (5th generation) whenever I do an image search and click on a highlighted image (any highlighted image) or the corresponding thumbnail link, doing so always and only results in a blank page. If however, I choose the option to open the image in a new tab, then and only then does the search go to the desired site. All the other search options seem to work fine.

I have cleared my caches and deleted my histories to no avail. Removing and reinstalling Firefox did not help. Rebooting didn’t do it either. Have I caught a malware that my antivirus protection has failed to detect? Is it a bug in the app?

I’m stumped.

Hello, Earlier today I had logged into a site for an appointment. I was on the appointment for over an hour. I click out of the site tab, and then about 10 minutes later, I realize I need to send a message.

I log back in and start a message that would include various links from other sites per the discussion just had. It is somewhat of a tedious process jumping back and forth from the message to then find the link to cut-n-paste into what you're typing.

So, I'm there about an hour. I'm almost kind of done, and on one of my hopping from one link to then put in the message, I accidentally - I guess- push the Firefox refresh that clicks out of my message and the Firefox page pops up as if I'm starting a new screen.

I then proceed to go back the website I was on, only to find the message was not saved in the "Drafts" folder though it saves as you type as its function. Annoyed, I figure I'll just go to site history to just get to what was hopefully saved since I was there an hour already.

That is when I noticed that the website i had just been on for over an hour WASN'T in my History search for the listings under the "Today"; I was on just moments before.

I was wondering if maybe my accidental 'refresh' push mistake somehow wiped out that 2nd session of the message writing time? So, i decide to scroll below all these links that I had gone to FOR the message IN this particular site, and try to see maybe I missed this website because I had a lot of links i was double checking.

And that's when I find that NONE of the 2 times I was on this particular is listed AT ALL. Not even the one from my appointment, with the first login. I somehow only see the troubleshooting new attempts of me getting into the site after the fact, and all the other links.

How is it possible that just ONE site is wiped from the History search? Literally every other link I had been to that day before, in between, and after those 2 loggins are in the History, but not the one site I need? I need to know what I did wrong--and if a person can wipe out just a selected item from their Firefox History, that's convenient for criminals.

So, I'm reaching out because I don't see this situation happening in other community Q & A. And although what I was working on for an hour is just gone, and it is what it is, I feel like it is super bazaar how one site alone is missing from your History Search, when that is the whole point of the history search function, and want to avoid this happening to me again, and is this a glitch that is forensically needing to be addressed on a larger front.
