When I enter the URL below IE shows a header, then a part where I can enter my tax payer data, and a trailer. FF shows only the header and the trailer.

Hi cor-el, --OK, I've checked it ... that sounds like bad luck, and I'm afraid I have to use IE for that task. --You can find the ... I've installed that already a couple of weeks ago without result. --You can try the ... I think that is too much effort just to avoid using IE, and my time is somewhat limited. Anyway, thanks a lot for investing your time helping me with that problem. I now understand what it is about, and it is the first time that I had a problem with FF in all the years I have used it. Thanks again and good luck!

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Clearing the cache and removing cookies did not help. I append screenshots: AT-FF is the result of the URL-call in FF, AT-IE1 and AT-IE2 the respective result in IE. The part for entering data is larger, I show only the top and the bottom.

OK, I've checked it and the page uses JavaScript and requests special "UniversalXPConnect" permissions.

if (esMZ) netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege("UniversalXPConnect");

Unfortunately such permissions are no longer possible in Firefox 15, so there is no way to run that script anymore.

EnablePrivilege is disabled in Firefox 15 and will be removed in Firefox 17.

You can find the AC RAIZ FNMT-RCM root certificate here and install it via the certificate manager (tick the box to trust websites).
Then yo do not need an exception for that website.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced : Encryption: Certificates - View Certificates > Authorities

You can try the Firefox ESR portable version to access the web page and temporarily set the signed.applets.codebase_principal_support pref to true if you need to access that website and leave it false if you want to use that version to visit other websites.
I'm on Linux, so can't verify if this works.

You can install an older portable Firefox version or the portable Firefox ESR version to access websites that do not work with the current Firefox release.
