When I open the firefox symbol a tab shows up on the botton bar and will not come up on the screen, I use this for school, and I cant get to it

I have used firefox for several years now, I resently (yesterday) got an attached file in ,ail ( use it on Firefox ) I tried too get it to work using some by passing, In the process Firefox gets tagged with this buy me crap and I cant get the side symbol to pop up on the screen, just a tab on the botton bar that when I hit on it just flashes and sits there. It's driving me nuts, three hours last night and three today and its worse, Im getting to you now over explorer (I need that crash ID)
