If I upgrade to Windows 7 from XP, does this affect my mozilla firefox add-ons? Also, what else will it potentially affect?
1.) I will be updating an operating system from XP to Windows 7. I'm just wondering what kind of impact this will have on my mozilla firefox add-ons. Will they be deleted? After the Windows 7 installation, will they need to be installed again?
2.) After installing the new operating system, will I have to completely set up the browser window settings or will they remain the same?
3.) Also, I'm currently using Xmarks. I know this will save the bookmarks, but will this also preserve the browser settings?
Let me know if I need to explain and make anything more clear. I will do my best : )
Thanks!

1/ Firefox extensions that work in Windows XP should work in Windows 7. Most plugins for Windows XP will also work in Windows 7. If you find any plugins that are not working you should check the site for the plugin to see if they have an updated version for Windows 7.
2/ You should backup your important user data before performing the update. This applies to all your important user data, not just the Firefox user data. For details of how to backup your Firefox user data see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+your+information
After installing Windows 7 you will need to re-install Firefox. You can then use the method in the following link to recover the user data from the backup and restore it to the new profile folder - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile
3/ You are probably better off asking this on the Xmarks forum - http://getsatisfaction.com/foxmarks
