Upgraded to Supernova and now emails when opened are different to the subject/sender/recipient

Unbelievable I know but when I open the highlighted email sent to the highlighted recipient it's a email that was sent to someone else!!! This has happened regularly since Supernova and I am sorry to say as a user of Thunderbird for donkey's years (I have donated several times) this is of course unacceptable. Unless you can quickly tell me what is wrong and fix it I will be having regrettably to change email platform to someone else.

Sometimes the folder index becomes corrupted. Try this: - highlight folder - rightclick and select 'properties' - then click 'repair folder'
