The update lost my address book and the style is not to my liking. Without my address book, I am out of business! I am not happy about this and will have to start all over with gmail now as I have zero faith in TB now.

Your original address book should exist in the Thunderbird profile as a .bak file.

You don't mention what styling you don't like, so it's impossible to comment about that, but it does improve in version 102 which will be out in about a month.
