Missing Key
Missing key. Identifies the key required but says:
"Unable to send the message, because there is a problem with your personal key. The configured key 'KEY NUMBER' cannot be found on your keyring."
Pls advise how to fix, or best course of action. Do not wish to lose years of encrypted emails by getting a new key. Regards, Robert

try looking in the key ring and restating the details. I occasionally see this with s/mime certificates and for reason I can not fathom Thunderbird has lost the fingerprint of the certificate. Perhaps this is something similar.
Is this about S/MIME or OpenPGP encryption? In case of the latter, where do you store the private key - within Thunderbird's keyring or gpg?

As long as you still have a valid private key you wouldn't lose anything by creating a new one.

I have no idea how to "restate" the details. Do I look in OpenPGP Key Manager? Not sure how to use it.

OpenPGP. I am not sure where its stored, tbh I am sorting the issue out for a friend and she has forgotten where her key was stored. She was supposed to save it for safekeeping for things like this.

TB 91.8.1 is out now. Please install the update. Is there any difference?
