I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T530 with Android 5.0.2. I recently downloaded both Firefox and Firefox Focus but I haven´t been able to use neither of them: at first they just crashed, but now the tablet restarts a few seconds after opening and trying to browse anything. Every other app seems to work just fine.

I reinstalled it a few times. I've been able to view "about:crashes" and there were no crashes. What else can I do?

I don't want to use Chrome :( Please help!

Hi

If you open the Android Settings app, select Applications and find Firefox (and Firefox Focus), select Clear Cache (not data!).

You may also want to do this for other apps in your device to free up space.

Thanks! It didn't work though... I cleared the cache of all apps, and nothing.

Okay.

In Firefox for Android:

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Tap on the 3 dot menu
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Scroll to the bottom of Settings
  5. Tap About Firefox
  6. Tap Crashes
  7. Tap on the Socorro link
  8. Copy and paste that address into a new reply to this thread

If you have many crash reports it can be helpful to include several of the recent crash URLs

There is no crash reports (attached, sorry it's in Spanish), so I can't tap on the socorro link...

How much storage is free on the device (not including any memory card)?

more options

4,95 GB. I attach the storage info screenshot.

Hmm...

I think we are going to need much more information. Please can you follow the details under "Using adb logcat to get crash information" from https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/wiki/Logging-Crash-Information, providing a link to the Gist in a reply to this thread.

Let's see if I got it right...

I reproduced the crash twice. The first one here: https://gist.github.com/Maiadotcom/a1668044b9a3cf4a1e2bfce0192ff92e

For the second one I reinstalled Firefox: https://gist.github.com/Maiadotcom/d24a95e24629f5b8644bb47bafa898aa

Note that the tablet restarts when the crash happens, so the log stops just there.

Thank you for your time!

In Firefox for Android, type about:crashes into the address bar - are there any entries listed?

more options

Hi again, sorry I was disconnected for a while. I can´t type about:crashes because a few seconds after opening Firefox the tablet restarts...

I had a pending update (to 91.3.0) and that seems to have solved it! It works! And Focus too.

Thanks a lot for your help <3
