Hi there, I've not been able to send any emails since Monday last week. I thought at first that it was just me but it seems to be an issue with a couple of my colleagues too (but not all) - it's very strange. I've bullet-pointed the issues below to break it down:

• 3 staff members here can't send emails, but can still receive • 2 staff members remain unaffected • We have an email address (sales@directspecs.co.uk) that is on two computers. We can send emails from one but not the other. • All SMTP settings have been checked with the email service provider and all details are correct. • I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Thunderbird to no avail. • We get intermittent "Unable to save the message as a draft" errors whilst typing emails. • The error that pops up on sending is just "Sending of the message failed" - no timeout error or anything of the sort. • We've spoken to our email service provider who are insisting it's not a problem on their end. • We've spoken to our ISP who are also saying there should not be a problem.

• Our email provider is Bluepark • Our ISP is Optix

We're completely at a loss of what to do now. I've tried looking at the error log and even when I get the "Sending of the message failed" error, nothing else pops up in the error log.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Direct Specs

It would appear there are some issues with the MX (mail Exchanger) records in DNS for your domain. They should be corrected, but are probably unrelated to your problem. https://www.dnsstuff.com/tools#dnsReport|type=domain&&value=directspecs.co.uk

I would guess that is may well be related to anti virus/Firewall issues. Quite common really when Thunderbird updates some product simply refuse to allow Thunderbird to connect to the internet. In the first instance I would suggest you try without any outgoing mail scanning from your anti virus product.
