How to Sync Contacts with Windows 10 "People" application?

I can't find any info anywhere on how to effectively sync Thunderbird contacts with Windows 10 People (contacts address book). I am looking for a proper two way sync. All info I have come across is to export / import, which is only a singular one-time event that doesn't maintain ongoing changes. Plug-ins like lighting don't seem to work either. I am baffled at how unfriendly / incompatible Thunderbird seems to be. I'd think TB would have a preference pane to sync with any contact service even iCloud.

Any help greatly appreciated before I give up on TB. Been trying to find solutions for months now and to no avail. :-(

Please read the comments at this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1118612 Matt has done some excellent searching about and this my be a solution for you. the people app is simply a reflection of what is recorded on outlook.com as your contacts.

If your W10 user account is connected to an MS account, then the People contacts are associated with the MS outlook.com account. Besides the add-on mentioned above, there is also TbSync.
