everytime I try to open Firefox, it tries to update. DONT WANT IT TO, how do I stop it?????

every time I try to open my Firefox Browser, it tries to update to a newer version. How do I stop the browser from trying to update every time i open it??

Aslo I have all security set up as best I can, yet every time I click on a link, it opens ANOTHER dang advertising page. What the heck is this? If you cant put this browser back like it was in the beginning, then maybe its time to try a different browser. Your claim to fame is "free browser, free internet. yet every thing about this browser is a pain in the back side. Ads Ads Ads I would rather pay for the browser, than have to put up with all these pop up ads.

Have you ever heard this acronym??? K I S S. It stands for "Keep it Simple Stupid". You seem to have lost that concept. Too bad too. I used to love your browser, now, I am 1 more bad experience from never using it again.

How can you claim to be big into security, when every pop up comes with spam, virus, trojan horses, etc....

You can disable autoupdate by following these steps:

Go to main menu > Tools > Options > click on Advanced tab > click on Update tab and then click on the round radio button that says Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)
