Why, when I hover over a hyperlink in a suspect message, does the url no longer appear at the bottom left of the Thunderbird window?
If I think a received email is not from my bank, an easy check has always been to hover the cursor over the 'Login' button to see which URL in Russia it wants to to take me to. However, the link details no longer appear at the bottom of the Thunderbird window. How can I get this most useful feature back please?

This info is displayed on the Status Bar. Turn that on if not already. From the Menu Bar select View-Toolbars-Status Bar.
If the status bar is already checked there is an add on that has caused the status bar to act up. It is Ad Blocker Plus. Disable this add on if installed and see if this function returns.

There have been a number of people with the same issue and it has been an add-on in each case. For the life of me I can not think of which one though. Mail merge or stationary come to mind, but I am just not sure.

Thank you. It was the STATUS BAR - It had been turned off somehow.
