Emails were not appearing in the Thunderbird (v128.11.0esr (64-bit), on a Windows 10 laptop) Inbox from a newly opened Gmail account (though they did appear in All Mail). The Gmail account was opened with default options, and it was added to Thunderbird with default options. They did appear in the Gmail app on an Android phone, but with the label 'Primary' rather than 'Inbox'. Investigation of Gmail accessed via a web browser showed that the Inbox contained four tabs: 'Primary', 'Promotions', 'Social' and 'Updates'. Doing Get started with Gmail > Customize your inbox > Default > Customize allowed me to "Deselect all categories to go back to your old inbox". This didn't fix Thunderbird (even though I forced a Get New Messages for) but, after I'd blundered around a bit more, it started working. So, I'm not sure whether I did something else to fix it, or it just took several minutes to start working. Also, the Android phone now shows 'Inbox' rather than 'Primary'. Question: Is there a way of sorting this out at the Thunderbird end, without having to make setup changes at the Gmail end? It would be very useful if Thunderbird could sort this out automatically when we add a Gmail account. Until then, it would be useful if your solution or, if no solution, my work-around could be publicised in Help. Thank You

Windows: Win11 24H2 Thunderbird: Version 139.0.1

The screenshot shows the reminder window. The window appeared, I enter sleep on the computer, come out of sleep, there is no window. The same thing happens if I close Thunderbird (with a cross in the upper right corner) and then launch it. And the same thing happens after the computer is turned off and on.

What actions have I done to understand the problem: 1) deleted the profile and created a new empty one, i.e. profile files have no effect on this; 2) reinstalled Thunderbird.

The problem started 3-4 days ago. The problem may have occurred after the Thunderbird program update - the update was on June 2.

Hello - I have 2 Thunderbird accounts supported by gmail. A recent issue has occurred that I cannot seem to resolve. Both accounts are active and accessible on my Android cell phone. Only 1 account is now accessible on my laptop. I have tried all available solutions to get Google to "recognize" this second account but no success. My last email received via laptop Thunderbird was May 1. Any suggestions? Thanks very much, Jim

Just today, not able to send or receive emails (google mail). Trying to send gives an error: 'Send failed. Peer's certificate... invalid signature'. Receiving is silent - just no downloading. Google's web client works ok.

Not aware of anything changing. Thunderbird is up to date (128.11.0esr (64-bit)). Windows 11.

I've not changed any settings ( still SSL/ OAuth2)

any help much appreciated. thanks Gordon

Imported mail from Desktop to phone (No Problem) Now I just need to know where the inboxes are for each of my three accounts. It shows Outbox and unified inbox, which I have disabled as I oly want to see each individual inbox. On the phones home screen, the Thunderbird icon has a number three on it. How do I get to see the three emails?

Incoming e-mails do not always appear in the inbox when they arrive. They always do appear but there are often delays, sometimes of a few minutes, sometimes of several hours, and sometimes of many hours. At the end of the delay they always do appear, with the time at which they were sent indicated, even though that time is earlier than the time at which they appear in my inbox. I have sometimes sent e-mails to myself, as tests -- and these are also often delayed for five or ten minutes. I am not aware of any actions that I take that precipitates either the start or the end of the delay.

I recently started using Thunderbird to back up my emails, but I accidentally forgot to remove the Delete emails after transfer checkmark and all the emails on the original server (Yahoo Mail) were deleted.

I contacted Yahoo, but it seems impossible here, so is there any way to revert it on the Thunderbird side?

In the meantime, we are working on restoring the necessary emails from Thunderbird by forwarding them again.
