I have used Thunderbird with Yahoo (email and calendar) for many years. Never had any problems with email syncing, but calendar was always a bit more difficult. At first it was caldav, but around 2023 it stopped working, so I moved to following instructions: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4075.html

This stopped working late last year and never managed to find what the problem is...

Searching for a solution found this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1460558

but on reflection, this doesn't work for me (caldav) plus trying to use "Provider for Caldav" I am being told that it is not compatible with my version of Thunderbird (102.11.0 64-bit)

A number of times during the day, when I'm on my email account a window interrupts me to verify my account ( photo attached) After I follow all prompts repeatedly over many times a strange series of slashes cross the top of my window and it asks me if I want to go back to my previous last email. I can not proceed with my activity. So I close the computer and wait a couple of hours and try to start up, BUT my password box is filled with dots. I am unable to continue. So I wait longer. When I do get access it all starts over again. Is this you or google doing this? I have been with Thunderbird for years, and I hate the idea of having to go through Google to use you. Yesterday it locked me out of my computer in total. Need help!

I asked bout this a couple of weeks ago but didn't get a response. Perhaps I asked under the wrong heading. I'm not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to these things. Over the holidays I prepared many emails to send afterwards. I created sub-folders in my drafts folder. I sent the emails OK, but then I couldn't delete the folders I created in the drafts folder. Not only that but the folder icons in Drafts turned from yellow to purple and they did that in all four of my email accounts, even though my storage of emails was all in one single account. When I right click on the folders I don't get the option to delete and the folders won't allow being dragged to trash. Also one of the folders suddenly disappeared with all of the prepared email in it. Can you help me correct this condition? Thanks.

hello, most probably we went way over what's supposed to be as regards thunderbird folders. one of these folders (with some 5,7 Gb content) finally sort of lost all its subfolders, sub-subfolders and emails. the files are there on the disk, but Thunderbird can't see them anymore. I tried to fix it with the available button, but after 8 hours it was still stuck at the very first step (don't know if there are more, really). also I searched online and found some interesting solutions, among which ne pointed at removing the panacea.dat e global-messages-db.sqlite files in order to force Thunderbird and rebuild its index. I am running v 115 though and there's no panacea.dat here. I wonder if there is any new procedure to get the same result... or else, whatever viable solution that could make me recover the former folders structure. of course, the first thing I would do after recovering would be to simplify the structure and/or reorganise in order for the folders to be less heavy, according to any suggestions of yours... that would be more than welcome :) thanks, kind regards

Still happens. Flashes so fast you can sort of see the body, but it won't actually download. Took 10 tries to grab email # code to sign in here.

Hello In my Thunderbird (Windows 10), undated to last release, I have several mailboxes. For one mailbox (and only this) I am getting error messages like these:

"Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox." and "The folder ‘Inbox on .......' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system

I have deactivated the relevant functions on antivirus software (Kaspersky) and still get the error. I have also tried to start in restricted mode, still the same message.

Every time I run Thunderbird, it appears to lose its IMAP connection(s) after 10-15 minutes. I've tried varying the number of cached connections from 1 to 10 with no difference in behavior.

Restarting Thunderbird will restore connectivity temporarily, until the entire process starts over again.

It seems to be correlated to saving a copy of sent messages. The sending process times out while the message is being saved to the Sent folder after the SMTP sending is complete.

Once this happens, new mail doesn't appear, moving mail between folders has no effect, and some (but not all) messages can't be retrieved from the server.

This is an odd one I've not encountered before. I have TB installed on 2 laptops at home. They are up-to-date with 128.6.0 installed, and both are using the same wi-fi system.

All of a sudden a few days ago, TB on one of the laptops, but not the other, became noticeably slow in deleting messages. It now takes a few seconds for what before always happened instantly (and still does on the other laptop).

Not the end of the world but it's annoying and I'm hoping there's an easy fix.

My Thunderbird client stop receiving email from the ATT account sometime late December. I don't check email every using Thunderbird client. I've since have created a new secure mail key using ATT site. This solved problem in prior years. I also change the server names from pop.att.yahoo.com to inbound.att.net and from smtp.att.yahoo.com to outbound.att.net and I still can't download email. I don't see any message in the bottom status bar/area.

Sometimes I can easily move an email in Thunderbird by dragging and dropping from one folder to another. And other times, it simply won't move to the folder of my choice. I have also tried the right click on the email and choose MOVE to the local folder, but still the email won't move.

I have just migrated my Windows Live Mail to Thunderbird but some of the old WLM emails are not in the folder that they should be on Thunderbird.

When I select a folder with the columns and column widths set the way I want, then do "Apply current view to > Folder and its children > Local > Local" Thunderbird applies the view to some, but not all, folders. Even if I target a problem folder and explicitly attempt to apply the desired current view to it, it doesn't work. If I create a new blank folder as a sub-folder of a folder that *does* accept current views, I can't apply the current view to the sub-folder. It retains what appears to be a default view.

I can't see any difference between folders that accept "current view" and those that do not. Any suggestions? Or is there a way to set the default view (i.e., columns and column widths, not just sort order) for new folders?

Since upgrading to thunderbird 128.6.0esr, my shared google calendars no longer show any events.

The activity manager shows it is stuck trying to sync, but not going anywhere.

Onn checking the developer logs, the following messages are displayed.

Anybody else having this problem or know of a solution. (I have removed "CALDAV" and "TB SYNC" extensions - also installed "TB SYNC 4")
