Hello, I speak french therefore sorry for my english ! I have since 3 days, the impossibility to send a mail. I always receive an error message like this :

L’envoi du message a échoué. Une erreur est survenue lors de l’envoi de l’e-mail : erreur du serveur SMTP. Le serveur a répondu : bluewin.ch mailout-004.p.bluenet.ch Swisscom AG sc774: Blocklisting in effect.

This have been caused as I wanted to send a message to a list of more of 100 personn and the system of my provider (Swisscom Bluewin) blocked me.

I contacted them explained the situation and the have deleted the blocking list and if I go on the email of the provider Swisscom I am free to send message without problem.

BUT in Mozilla Thunderbird i am still blocked with the above mentioned error message !

I have controlled all my SMTP info and they are correct, I have try to disabled the Bitdefender security but no way it remains blocked.

My question is, is this blocking list only remaining in Mozilla Thunderbird and for how long time or someone can help me to cancel this blocking list in Mozilla Thunderbird ?

Many thanks in advance for your help

I've searched and tried all suggested solutions but nothing is stopping the constant popup asking for a password for a long deleted email account. I removed all saved PWs. I removed contacts that received email from that deleted account, I've cleared cache etc etc etc.

Nothing is stopping this extremely annoying popup.

Help please.

After three hours still greyed-out with the turning circle and no response. I have tried several times. Please advise a solution

Thunderbird ver 140.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11.

Brand new, fresh installation of Thunderbird. - Added a GMail account. That worked. - I tried to add an account with my personal domain. I enter my name, the email account, and Thunderbird gets stuck in an unending loop looking up the configuration. - Other email clients have successfully looked up the config and did the setup without a problem. - The email account is handled via IONOS.com servers. - If you gave me a manual setup option I could handle it but there is none; TB goes straight into trying to handle it itself.

Any ideas?

Hi Everybody,

version: 143.0.1 (64-bit)

I had an "activity" indicator on the very bottom of my Thunderbird interface. It would show that I was connecting to my ISP and indicate how many messages it was downloading, as well as show a counter.

Somehow, I lost that indicator.

Could someone tell me how to get it back?

May Thanks, Paul

Thunderbird performs a compaction. When it is finished the blue progress line is still showing on the bottom right hand side of the window.

You can select any folder and any view condition (read, all, tags etc) and no emails are shown anywhere.

  • Restarting Thunderbird fixes the problem with no errors.
  • This has happened a lot of times now and is consistent.
  • If you force a compaction the problem does not occur.

Update: Usually, in frustration, I restart Thunderbird to fix the problem. This time, whilst typing this forum question, the problem resolved itself. I guess about ten minutes elapsed before the application righted itself. I will watch for the next incident and see what other information can be observed.

There is a way to store read email messages in folders. I have a list of them named beneath my in mail box. I can't find a way to CREATE another folder for a new affiliate. The way I normally store messages is press "more" and it gives me a list to send saved mail to. I need to include this affiliate in that list. Can you tell me how to do it, or am I maxed out on the list?

I want to send messages I delete to a Trash folder on my laptop, rather than the Trash folder on the server. Is there some way to do this? I'm looking at:

Server Settings > Security Settings > When I delete a message

This only gives me the option save deleted messages somewhere on the server.

(I have given up all hope of convincing Thunderbird to download all my messages, but fixing the Trash problem will make the program at least useable, from my POV!)

This is true for two different user accounts on the same computer.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird but it didn't help.

Thunderbird can't be exited without killing from the task manager or shutting down.
