Our calendar in Thunderbird is currently not letting any new events be entered, is now completely blank of all entries and causing a headache as we have no access to information previously entered for next month and information from last month.

Any help provided would be appreciated.

i SET UP THUNDERBIRD ON MY NEW COMPUTER, SUCCESSFULLY, BUT THREE DAYS AGO MY WEB HOST/SERVERS UPGRADED THEIR SYSTEM. i SPENT THREE DAYS SORTING OUT NEW SETTINGS. CONFIGURATIONS, PASSWORDS, ETC, TO GET IT ALL WORKING, IT WAS DIFFICUL BUT IT NOW WORKS. HOWEVER, I HAVE MANY FOLDERS OF MAIL ,AND MAIL NOT IN FOLDERS, IN THEUNDERBIRD ON AN OLDER COMPUTER. i WANT TO IMPORT THOSE FOLDERS OF MAIL, AND ADD THEM TO MY NEW COMPUTER THUNDERBIRD INBOX SET UP, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO IMPORT THE OLD SETTINGS AGAIN!" THAT COULD BE A DISASTER. I JUST WANT THE MAIL AND THE FOLDERS. ALL THE VIDEOS i SEE ARE TO IMPORT THE OLD SETTINGS AS WELL. CAN I JUST EXPORT/IMPORT THE ACTUAL MAIL FOLDERS AND MAIL, AND NOT SABOTAGE MY HARD WORK BY CHANGING ALL THE NEW SETTINGS AND PASSWORDS BACK TO WHAT THEY USED TO BE IN THE PROCESS?? I recently had an issue where my email password changed on another client, but Thunderbird did not prompt me for a new password. After two days, my account was still frozen with no new emails on Thunderbird, although they were updating on other clients. The Mozilla help on the issue said to go to "Options." There is no "Options" option in my Thunderbird, not in the top menu, not under server settings, not under Account settings, not under Tools. My version of Thunderbird is 115.11.0 (64-bit), running on Ubuntu Linux 22.04 LTS. Maybe the issue of no "Options" option is specific to this particular incantation.

Here's what I did to force Thunderbird to prompt me for a new password. I selected "Server Settings" below the email address in the left pane. I changed the Server Name to one that is incorrect. When I migrated away from that textbox, Thunderbird raised a popup window that it had to restart. I let it restart, and when it came back up, it prompted me for a new password. I now input my correct password for the email address. It came back a few moments later that the password was incorrect, asking me to enter a new password. Well, it's the server URL that's incorrect, not the password. I cancelled the popup window, then changed the the server name back to the correct one. When I migrated away from that textbox, Thunderbird again raised a popup window that said it had to restart. I let it restart, and when it came back up, everything was fine, and my two days of undelivered emails came through immediately.

I hope this can help others who are bewildered by the lack of an "Options" option on their version of Thunderbird.

How do I get mail from the 'sent' folder on an old laptop into a new one? I have migrated old received mail and contacts to the new inbox no problem.

Using the export tool is no use - the Zip folder it creates titled 'Thunderbird_profile_backup' is corrupted and nothing can open it. I manually copied all files into an external drive and opened them in the new Thunderbird. That imported contacts but not mail from the old 'sent' folder. How do I get all those old sent mails out of the old device?

Basically, when I have a threaded message, I don't see the > to drop down information to show the threads from the subject pane in the subject field.

I have gone to view, sort by threaded. I'm led to believe I should see something like this:

Subject : Top Level of Thread

 |
 ---> Subject : Re: Top Level of Thread
      |
      ---> Subect : Re: Top Level of Thread

But I see none of that. It's just one flat subject. It doesn't even tell me someone has replied to me. I have to go into the mail to see that. I have added the conversations add on just to get a glance of that, because I'm seeing nothing.

Using TB 115.11.0 (32-bit) on a Windows 10 machine, with IMAP synchronization. Quite often (but not always) the synchronization of the inbox takes an extremely long time, Activity Manager showing "bringing folder inbox up to date" hanging in "downloading message 1 of ...".

I have made a Gecko IMAP:5 log and see (during this state) a pattern repeating every 2 minutes, ending in "idle mode async waiting". Then, after a long time suddenly the synchronization process finishes.

What can be wrong here?

I have been using Thunderbird for probably greater than 15 years (back when I was in college). The last couple of years I have noticed an issue of when deleting multiple emails that has gotten progressively worse, where the entire application will hang in "Not Responding". For a test, I just deleted a batch of emails from the last month (newsletters, notifications, etc), it was 113 messages, and froze the application for more than six minutes. This was on my hotmail account but the same happens for my other accounts as well (all configured as IMAP). The issue has persisted through uninstall/reinstalls and even across a replacement computer. No extensions are installed.

Any thoughts?

I always use Mozilla Thunderbird for email. Today, it would not send outgoing email. Any email gives me a failed message: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Spam detected by content scanner. Message rejected (ID 665754780026FB52). Please check the message and try again."

My ISP insists the problem is not with their server, and I need to have Mozilla correct it.

Looking at an individual mail, e.g. 57170, it also does not show the contents. Using Ctrl-U to show the source then reveals the contents.

Some mails always end in spam folder no matter which settings I have tried for example collected adresses or check/uncheck spam settings. For a test I have two hotmail accounts. When I from thunderbird send mail from one to the other, it ends in spamfolder. But if I from the same mail account from outlook.live website send mail to the same account, it doesn't end in Thunderbird spam folder. Besides this many other safe and regocnized mailaccounts recently starts to end in spamfolder. Can any thing be done?

While I haven't encountered this problem enough to have sussed out what sequence of events causes it, Thunderbird will occasionally get into a mode where I can't switch windows focus. (See the attached screen shot of the Task Manager showing you can't "switch to" Thunderbird.)

When this happens nothing seems to work except killing the task via Task Manager. Not optimal.

This time - the most recent occurrence (today) - when this happened, there was an outstanding update. After killing the task and restarting I got the message "Thunderbird is installing your updates." Still not optimal, even if it is a critical update.
