I read an article recently about 'session hijacking' and decided that every time I quit Firefox, I wanted to delete cookies & clear site data as well as browsing history.

However I wanted to know if it's possible to do that as well as all open tabs to be persist & be reopened through the quit and restart cycles (albeit logged out if it's website where I was logged in) but I can't get it to work as there appears to be a contradiction in all these options.

FF 159.0 macOS 10.15.8 Catalina (yes, ancient os I know) using the extension Tree Style Tab

I've been adding exceptions for some websites Privacy and security > Browsing data > Manage exceptions & History > Customise history > Choose what you want Firefox to remember > Advanced settings > Manage exceptions.

Home and startup > Startup > Open previous windows and tabs is checked but must be overridden by the other options.

Any advice on what settings will achieve what I want or even if it's possible? TIA

I was using 154.1 and updated to 159.0. it worked perfectly with 154.1 and before. Now I updated to 159.1, but the problem persists. I am running windows 11. In Android it works.

Hi, I often use a two finger 'flick' to scroll and firefox is not allowing me to stop the momentum.

Other browsers work just fine.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I was trying to change my method of payment for the VPN. It then took me to PayPal's website and the only option I get from them is to cancel it. Do I have to cancel it and then use the new way I want to pay for it after this month ends? Or would you be able to help change my payment method? Thank you!

The GPU isn't working properly... I've attached screenshots of the browser I have installed. If needed, I can take any logs, etc. It's very frustrating - I have a fairly old processor and its GPU isn't working properly! HOW do I STOP FIREFOX from giving me pop up windows ? It is FIREFOX that is creating the pop up windows, NOT the web page that I am on ! This is AI nonsense that I want ELIMINATED !

Recently I observed Firefox is consuming TOO MUCH of RAM on my PC. It is anywhere between 55 % & 65%. That’s too much! I’ve 12 GB of RAM.

Is this due to updating of FF? Btw, I did not install any Extensions. And if I close Firefox the RAM consumption comes down to around 33%.

I do have 12-14 open Tabs but I always had those open Tabs. Previously FF did not consume so much of memory. What could be the reasons for this heavy RAM consumption?

On Thursday 3rd September 2026 Firefox stopped working. I tried lots of things to get it to work to no avail. Today, 8th September 2026, I had already deleted the Firefox that was already on my PC so I downloaded a fresh copy from the Firefox website and installed it. It ran perfectly for about 30 minutes then I shut it down. 5 Minutes later, a Firefox crash report appeared which I duly sent of. Checking Event Manager a string of error messages saying the same thing, Its the XUL.DLL file that keep crashing! This was the same file that caused the failure last week. I had made sure that XUL.DLL was not on the pc when I downloaded Firefox today. When I click on the Firefox icon it open but stays on a black lower half of the screen and boxes at the top, white lined but black and transparent lines moving left to right across them, eventually it fails and closes, after a few minutes it send the crash report. Its a shame because I have used Firefox for many, many years and now having to use Edge!!!!

Gentlemen, isn't your browser using a lot of RAM? I've been freaking out about it in recent years. That's only with 25 tabs open!! Despite the fact that the system was installed just a day ago, without any tweaks!!!
