After the latest version was updated, Version 149.00.7, on my laptop, on 27 March 2026, the browser closed midway while I was working, and now I can no longer access Firefox.

When I click on the Icon to access I keep getting the following error message as per the attachment:

I have uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it THREE TIMES already', but I still get the same error as before, as per the screen print provided.

I have even tried to install Firefox with custom settings, but then in order to proceed with the installation the ONLY button to proceed was the "UPGRADE" option.

I am at my wits end because this is totally unacceptable and the updated version obviously DOES NOT WORK!!!

Your urgent attention and prompt action in sorting this out will be appreciated, thanks.

I had 6 groups in the sidebar showing when I closed Firefox last night. Today when I opened Firefox there was only one group showing how do I get the other groups re-displayed in the sidebar? I am finding no clues when using the last line in searching help

Is there a setting to disable product update notifications?

For example, I got a notification on Windows today prompting me to try out Firefox's new split tab view.

I do not want to receive these product update notifications.

I know I can disable notifications in Windows at the OS level, however, this also disables notifications for all websites I have enabled.

Is there an option to disable these?

I have dark mode set as a theme and a dark reader extension enabled. As of yesterday, when I open a PDF it always displayed with white text and a black background. I have vision issues and need my PDF'S to be able to easily read.

I keep getting this plug for Capital One shopping add-on. I keep rejecting it, but keeps coming back. I do have Capital One card - but not sure how connected those two are.

I'm unable to set the content of Homepage and/or New Window, it opens blank every time. It doesn't matter if I try FF Home Default, Custom URLs (either current page or use bookmark).

Oddly the New Tabs open as I've configured (for now w/DDG search - but any settings I use for new tabs all work as expected). If it even matters I use minimal add-ons/extensions...but these haven't changed more than a year...

All firefox windows just disappear after a random amount of time. Where can I look for possible logs of what's happening. Didn't see anything obvious in Event Viewer>

When I an issue where sending a tab from my android phone to a windows desktop opens the tab in a private window. This did not used to happen, and as far as I am aware I did not change any settings for this to happen. How do I stop this from happening?

Since the last update, some pictures do not show. For instance, in the News and Features Digest email that I receive, when I click on a headline to read article, any pictures do not show. It is just a big, blank, space. Also, for instance, some pictures on accuweather.com do not show, also on weatherbug.com. Even if I turn it off, the pictures do not show up. It seems the lastest update overwrote the shield in front of the address bar that I had set under Firefox settings, Privacy & Security, Enhanced Tracking Protection. I was able to turn off the shield and see what was being removed/blocked. Now that does not work. I understand you try to make Firefox as safe as possible by adding new features. However. I would like to remove whatever setting that shield has now installed with the latest update. I hope this makes sense.

Some URLs e.g. Costco.ca, amazon.ca etc will not load. I use FF and also have Chrome, Edge that have the same problem. One must assume that it is a settings problem with my Bosgame/Ryzen7 PC.

I am wondering if it is possibly caused by FF with all the safety build into it's design.? I have tried many items regarding the situation.

When I open a new tab, I am shown topics on news, science, culture, etc> the first topics I am shown are sensational trivial garbage. I always enjoy seeing informative and educational content, but Firefox prioritizes gossip, Hollywood personalities and advertisements disguised as news.. You also prioritize hearsay, negativity, and biased news articles. Are your editors doing this deliberately, or are they simply focused on immature minds and biases? How do I change this, or should I eliminate all content from the new tab page? Thank you.

I don't understand a lot of the UX decisions behind the new search bar: - Requires more clicks and keyboard strokes now to do the same things - Trending search suggestions cannot be disabled - But after disabling search suggestions entirely (because I don't want to see trending suggestions), I still see recents suggested when I first select the search field... but only then, and not as I type? - Hitting backspace one too many times reverts the search bar to my default search engine

The old search bar was awkward, but this one feels worse. Waaay overdesigned. Is there anything I can do about any of these issues? Should I expect any updates to search bar functionality in the near future?

Bonus complaint: WTF is up with the numbered list/bullet list situation on this form, holy moly. Had to just use dashes because those features are so unusable.
