How do I setup to have specific tabs show up every time I open Firefox

I have Firefox version 133.0 installed on Windows 10. I frequently use the "Open link in new tab" option to open a new webpage from a link in a current webpage. After the latest update of Firefox this no longer works. The option appears in the (new) menu when I right click on a link, but nothing happens when I click on it. No new tab opens. Literally nothing happens. Have also tried "Open link in new window" and that also results in no action. What am I doing wrong ?

When I scroll through the tabs on Android, I often end up deleting them because my swiping isn't perfectly vertical. It would be nice if the sensitivity was decreased or if I could turn off swipe to delete.
