I like to log into the reader comments section on local newspapers. Explorer will log in without trouble. Firefox 3.6 causes site to show a "Loading" message when I try to log in but the "Loading" msg just goes on and on and will not complete the log in. When I switch to Explorer I can log in without any problems. All the newspapers are Gannett owned, don't know if that is the problem

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
