Firefox asking for master password twice on startup

For a couple of weeks Firefox is now asking at startup twice for my master password. This happens not always, but at about 8 of 10 startups of Firefox. I am not participating in any studies and do not have an addon installed related to the "disabled add-ons problem" a couple of weeks ago. However, I remember having applied a "hotfix-update-xpi-signing-intermediate-bug" at that time. In other threads I read that this could be related to my problem. How can I get rid of such a hotfix or might my problem be related to something else?

Chosen solution

Shame on me, 5 minutes more googling and I could have solved the problem without raising this question. Indeed the issue seems to be related to the applied "hotfix-update-xpi-signing-intermediate-bug". This addon isn't visible via about:addons, but about:debugging. The solution was to delete the appropriate XPI-file in the profiles folder.
