hello chris, according to norton the toolbar is already compatible with firefox versions including the current release version. please run the norton liveupdate utility repeatedly & until all components are up-to-date. in addition make sure that the toolbar is enabled under firefox > addons > extension afterwards.

Unlike with most extensions not really having issues in new versions normally, the extension that tie in with Firefox and say a antivirus client needs to be updated for each new Major Release of Firefox.

About the only positive thing about Norton is that they usually have a live update ready for their Norton extensions within a day before to a day after a new Firefox release since Firefox was at version 5.0

Also note if you are using the Comcast supplied version then it can be behind on updates for Norton toolbar. Edit; It looks like they do have a Comcast update ready this time.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Open the Add-ons Manager <Control><Shift> A and disable All of them.

FredMcD, the OP issue is the version of the Norton extension was not compatible with Fx 32.0 as it needed to be updated.

We get a number of these same question after a new major Firefox version release.

Chris55,

Did you read this Norton support thread about this issue? http://community.norton.com/t5/Product-Update-Announcements/Firefox-32-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/ba-p/1175625

"We have released a Firefox 32 compatibility patch for Norton Internet Security 21.5, Norton 360 21.5 and Comcast Norton Security Suite 21.5 which is available via LiveUpdate. The patch is also available for the Norton 2013, Norton 2012 and Norton Identity Safe standalone products."

You might want to "bug" Norton and ask them to work on their updates system so that it doesn't done manually - like "know" that Firefox has just updated and then run the Live Update automatically, so that the user doesn't need to do anything. Norton seems to be more timely with their Firefox add-on updates than other AV vendors, but they're in 2nd or 3rd place as far as "ease of use" - IOW, there's room for improvement.

Try to run Norton Live update a few times to make sure that all components are updated to the latest version.
