I am using Firefox for years and I was always very happy with it. To be honest, there are not many options out there anyway, the google spyware that the majority of people are using now is a no go area for me.
But in the past 2..3 years every time I 'downgrade' firefox to a newer version it gets slower and slower, hangs sometimes for 1..2 minutes without doing anything using 100% CPU time. And how a browser displaying a web page with realistically 2.000 bytes of contents can use up 300.000.000 bytes of memory is difficult for me to understand.
So I finally had enough, ignored all those scary security concerns people are spreading here and installed version 17ish. And guess what: I have a nice usable browser again, no hanging, less memory use and very fast.
Maybe something for the developers to think about (if they care)... But performance and being careful with resources doesn't seem to be important for software developers any more...

I currently use a Konica Minolta bizhub C308 MFP at my office. We have user authentication setup to keep track of printer usage. My user name and password are saved in the Konica Minolta driver on my iMac (OS 10.12.2) so it doesn't have to be re-entered for every print. After updating to Firefox 50 in December all print jobs from OS X running Firefox 50 fail at the MFP with a "Login Error". Printing from all other applications still work as expected. I have contacted Konica Minolta support and the issue was escalated to the driver developers who researched the problem extensively. They concluded that Firefox is not sending the authentication information needed by the printer to authenticate the print. I found a similar bug report on your site from a couple weeks ago (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1330379) using a Savin printer, so this appears to be across multiple manufacturers. Below is Konica Minolta's response.
We have confirmed that this symptom occurs because of the malfunction of Firefox application, regardless to PS driver. After a deep investigation, we realize that Firefox(Version50.0) does not pass the driver settings to the spooler. Therefore, those neccessary PJL commands are not written in the print data, causing "Login Error" on MFP during user authentication printing.
From the capture data retrieved from MFP, we know the following information is not included in the print data sent by the driver. @PJL SET USERNAME = "ops" @PJL SET HOLD = OFF @PJL SET BOXHOLDTYPE = PRIVATE @PJL SET KMUSERNAME = "konica" @PJL SET KMUSERKEY2 = "2F575AB33A772D02D189CFBDE48D16F1" @PJL SET KMCERTSERVTYPE = NONE @PJL SET KMCERTSIMPLEAUTHREQ = OFF @PJL SET CHAPTERMODE = OFF @PJL SET IMAGESHIFT = OFF @PJL SET EDGEMATCHING = FINISH @PJL SET OUTBIN = DEFAULT @PJL SET JIMONMODE = OFF @PJL SET DTSTPMODE = OFF @PJL SET PAGESTAMP = "NONE,1,1" @PJL SET HFSTPMODE = OFF @PJL SET PLANESINUSE = 3
This symptom does not occur if Firefox like Version 48.0,38.0,30.0 are used because these versions of the Firefox pass the driver settings to the spooler.
As we conclude this symptom is related to Firefox itself, it is difficult to solve this symptom by modifying the driver. As a workaround, please use other web browser such as Safari if you wish to use user authentication to make a print.
Please let me know if there is a fix for this or if it can be corrected in an update.

Firefox Imgur and Flash WIthin imgur there is a button to copy a link to images. Within Firefox that doesn't work properly, at least *I* didn't get it to work properly. Either it doesn't work, or something else is showing up (recently)
Within Chrome, no issues.
I understand that Firefox does not support Flash, but fact is that a lot of sites still have Flash. Believe Chrome and Edge support Flash websites, have a built in Flash or something. Probably they have more control then?
So Firefox is either chasing away their users to the 'competition' (I have Chrome on my pc as well), or users should separately install Flash, which may then be more vulnerable than when Flash is 'built in' (controlled) by the browser.
Either way, it is disappointing.
I understand the policy, I understand that websites should switch to HTML5 but right now, it doesn't help me much.
No.. indeed there is no question here, just frustration.
I try to uplaod to youtube and I've had no problems before but now it freezes and im forced to close it with task manager.

A few weeks ago I have reinstalled both my desktop and laptop with fresh copy Windows 10. Both devices had been running Windows 10 for over a year but as an upgrade of Windows 8.1.
After the clean W10 install I reinstalled Firefox 50.1.0 on both devices and on my desktop it runs without a problem with all my extensions and addons. But on my laptop though Firefox keeps starting with the 'firstrun' page after each reboot, thereby losing most of my settings and extensions etc. etc..
I have tried: - reinstalling FF - uninstalling and (manually) removing all leftover FF folders and registry settings - copied all the settings from my desktop FF to the laptop FF folders. - Made a new local user account (with local admin rights) and tried all of the above again but to no avail,
It is driving me nuts, before the W10 reinstall FF ran fine on the laptop with W10.
Anyone have the golden tip for me how to solve this? I really do not want to switch to Chrome or Opera.
Kind regards, Edwin

XP repair OK, most things running alright. Firefox and the avast anti-virus are crashing.
The dump says exceptionillegal instruction. What does that mean? Something wrong with my CPU ? Firefox running an instruction not supported?
It crashes at startup, but not every time. Currently using onboard video (ATI Radeon 3000 graphics) HW acceleration off.
Please advise here's the ID of some of the crashes

Firefox stopped loading. I searched Google and found instructions to:
Open Firefox Menu - -> Help Menu - ->Troubleshooting Information --> Refresh Firefox.
I followed this REFRESH procedure and Firefox loaded and performed normally I then closed it.
But now each time I want to use Firefox I must go through the entire: Open Firefox Menu - -> Help Menu - ->Troubleshooting Information - ->Refresh Firefox.
How can I open Firefox without going through the entire REFRESH procedure each time?

This is an issue I've had with Firefox for quite a while, and so I've been using different browsers to do reverse image searches. I'm fed up enough to try to fix it, though.
When I go to google image search on Firefox, I get this:
The exact same url on Edge displays this:
You'll note that it doesn't have the black strip across the top, and it does have the little camera icon. Nothing in Firefox will make the camera icon appear.
The most likely culprit seems to be an add-on, so I restart Firefox in safe mode, with all customisation disabled. The same url gets me this:
If I click on the "Search Images" button, I finally get a camera, which allows me to search for a picture:
When I hit "the "Search By Image" button, however, the search results show up as this:
This is also the screen I get if I try to search directly by right-clicking on an image and using the option the "google Image Search" add-on adds to the context-menu.
So it's apparently something to do with Firefox, rather than any add-ons or customisation. Or otherwise something to do with something that Safe Mode doesn't disable, although I believe it disables everything.
It works fine on Edge, on Chrome and, before I got a new computer with a new OS, Internet Explorer. Any ideas?

I use Win XP SP3 with firefox v 43 but no matter what version it is it keeps crashing. The whole windows is a new installation like firefox itself. I noticed that crashes started after I installed adobe flash player. It used to give me troubles in the old installations as well. The question is: Is the new firefox really compatible with WinXP? How about the flash player? How to troubleshoot pls?

Fire fox 50.1.0, Windows 10 I've got about 11 windows open with a total of about 400 tabs. One of these windows is such that the tabs are all screwed up, so I tried to do an Append Session for that window, but I got some stupid error like it couldn't find the data, and then trying to do the same thing later, when I select on a Crashed Session, there are no entries in the lower List control, whereas usually there are all the windows & tabs listed. I also try to do a Save Session, and similarly, there are no entries in the lower List control, and the Save Session button is disabled. I don't know what to do short of painstakingly saving every tab to Bookmarks and then opening them up.

This has been driving me crazy for the last month. As you can see with the screenshot, there is a white border around Firefox.
I have dual monitors, a 4K and a 1080P. Problem only occurs on the 4K, only displaying on the 4K monitor doesn't help. Running the latest version of Windows 10, and latest drivers for my GTX video card. I've tried refreshing Firefox, completely uninstalling, safe mode, disabling hardware acceleration.
This problem does not occur every time I open Firefox, just the majority of the time. F11 to go full screen then bringing it back to a maximized window fixes it for that session. Firefox is the only program that has this issue.
It really bugs me, haven't found anything that quite fits or fixes the problem online :)
