How do I make and receive an email that is password protected?
One vendor wants us to send and receive emails that are password protected. I don't want this option to apply to any other communications. How do I set this up?

Assuming your attachment is a Word document, you'll need to protect it using Word.
You can also compress the document with e.g. Winzip and protect the archive.
This is nothing which can be done with Thunderbird.

You can send password protected documents as an attachment to an email message. You cannot password protect an email message itself.
Email encryption would probably make most sense in your case.
