History in firefox dissappeared, what do i do?

My wife's Macbook Pro lost its history and bookmarks yesterday, like you. I am the one who shows up as having the problem on this listing.

I have a partial solution. I found how to find the bookmark backup files and was able to put them on a thumb drive, so I'm hoping we can eventually recover them.

I used the instructions from this site:

I started at the paragraph entitled: "Where Is Firefox Bookmark Location on a Mac"

I could find the backup bookmark files and like I said above, and get them saved onto a thumb drive. I do not know what the next step is to "load" those bookmarks into Firefox, so they are accessible again.

Mozilla was having issues updating on my Windows 11 but when it finally did it looked completely different. Initially it didn't recognise my sign in details. However the first obvious change I noticed, is that all of my folders have disappeared which is quite upsetting for me. The bookmarks have gone too. Are my folders hidden somewhere and retrievable or are they lost for good? Wrong post and can't find how to delete this.
