How do I make my new gmail email address the default when I click on "Contact us" in a site in Firefox? Thanks.

When I click on a website's "contact us" button while in Firefox, I get my old email address in my old email provider, which means that new emails in the old inbox have to be loaded first , taking a lot of time. I want to keep my old email provider for the time being as not everyone has my new addy and the old forwards to the new addy. I have Micresoft XP. How do I make my new address the default?
