Firefox keeps reopening the same closed tabs over and over and over

At some stage i my browsing I have had 2 tabs open, one with an online beer store and one with google search results. I closed the off only to find some minutes later they had reopened, I closed the off again and minutes later they had reopened. Now every time I open firefox, open a new tab or click the home button on a tab that's already open these the two tabs reopen. Its very frustrating!

See How to set the home page: Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' symbols

Oh my, how silly do I feel! Those two tabs must have been open (along with google) when I hit "use current page as home page". Thank you so much!

this seems to be related to "use my current page" to set the home page. If there are two tabs open ( at least in v3.6.8) the home page is not just the current page, but the current layout i.e.

http://tab1|http://tab2

After that every click of the home button created tabs2 ( but only one tab1) after 3 clicks I had 3 copies of tab2
