Hello,

I desperately need your help. My brother died last weekend. And I need to access his Firefox. Is there any way to reset or remove the primary password? I really hope some can help me out.

Hi, you can reset the primary password, but it will wipe out all passwords.

Nope there is no access, you can remove it but you will loose all the encrypted data.

It's a Security and privacy thing, anyone could use the reason you have which would defeat the object.

Try searching or guessing, as unlike some passwords I don't think there is a number limit on how many times you can try.

There are paid options but you may have to prove you have inherited your brother's assets with a 'proper' hacker.

Just to clarify, why would you want these passwords to other person's accounts.

For example:

if it is bank and you have the death certificate and evidence you the beneficiary they with transfer the funds to you.

Any social media and internet system can likewise be contacted with reliable information, so there is no reason I can see as to why you want these passwords except for convenience, and the whole point of passwords is to stop such third party convenient access.

So ultimately you don't need any passwords you just have to reach out to your brother's contacts personally and show your genuine entitlement and concern etc.

All the best
