My efforts to delete old password and create new password didn't work
I tried to delete old passwords and create new password in the Thunderbird password manager and when I tried everything to do it, the old password just pops in.

My efforts to delete old passwords and create a new password in Thunderbird Password Manager just led to popped up old passwords.
If your new password will work, you could go to privacy&security, highlight the rows for that account and delete them. Then, wait for the prompt for new password.
