Hi
If you want to use Thunderbird and iCloud together you have to generate an app specific password when you log into the Apple ID website.
Generate an App-Specific Password Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in. Navigate to the Sign-In and Security section. Click on App-Specific Passwords. Select Generate an app-specific password and click Create. Copy password, It looks like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.
Open Thunderbird, Account Settings > Account Actions > Add Mail Account. Enter your name and iCloud email address, settings: Incoming Server (IMAP) Server: imap.mail.me.com Port: 993 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication: Normal password Username: Your full email (e.g., username@icloud.com)
Outgoing Server (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.me.com Port: 587 Connection Security: STARTTLS Authentication: Normal password Username: Your full email
When Thunderbird asks for your password during the setup, paste the App-Specific Password you generated in Step 1, not your regular iCloud password.
Thanks to another post by someone else, who had the same problem, I resolve this.
