How to reverse a deleted sentence when composing an email
I was creating a long email and I tried to delete a sentence in the middle of the email by highlighting and then pressing the delete key. However, it deleted the sentence and everyting above it and I could not find a way of retrieving the lost part of the email.

On Windows, you can tap the Alt key to temporarily display the classic menu bar to get to the Edit menu, or use the Ctrl+z keyboard shortcut.

Edit-Undelete Or control+z
Undo works differently in different programs.
What I would suggest in the future is to select everything you have, copy, and paste into a separate program such as a word processor document or Notepad so you can copy it back later.
Then try Undo and see what you get back. Each time you get back something significant, copy/paste it somewhere for safekeeping before trying Undo again.
Eventually you will reach the end of the Undo buffer and have salvaged everything it is possible to salvage, and you can reassemble the parts you've saved.
Hi, Thanks for that. However, I cannot see an "undo button" in Thunderbird. Can you advise me where it is? Many thanks

Thanks jscher2000 and Airmail. Your replies are very helpful. I managed to retrieve the deleted parts of the email.
It is a pity that Mozilla do not put an "Undo" Button on the toolbar. It would make things a lot easier.

This might be overkill, but there is at least one extension that can add an Undo button to the toolbar: https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/addon/toolbar-buttons/
Many thanks. This is perfect. Regards
