Since latest Firefox update in Dec 2021 (95.0.2) I can no longer watch prime video on my macbook air. My husband who has same update has no problem watching themon his mac desktop and there is no problem watching them on kindle fire. However I want to continue watching on laptop.

I am guessing this is a settings issue, but I cannot find a solution. I cannot see the social sharing icons on my website when in Firefox on my Mac. I can see them in Safari. What's the deal?

Hi, I recently installed Firefox 49.0.2 on my mac which is up to date on OS Monterey. When I opened Firefox the browser screen was completely blank. I can see the URL bar and when I move my mouse I can see that there are links on the page which I can click on, but the screen is blank.

I've tried redownloading Firefox as well as other, older versions and they also show a blank screen. Only the browser screen is blank; if I click on add-ons a new tab opens and I can see that.

Suddenly everytime I open Firefox a new Firefox icon appears on my desktop toolbar. if I open Firefox three times I'll have three new icons - as well as the alias Firefox icon I've had in the toolbar for years. No idea why this has begun to happen. How do I get this to stop? (I'm using a 2017 21.5 inch IMac with Big Sure OS.)

I cannot find a way to turn off/disable the "AutoFill" setting... it keeps on revealing my email addresses before I've typed them out.

I'm not a fan of these security breeches. Firefox is giving the wrong info online about disabling this feature because each time I try to disable in preferences/privacy... there is no "dropdown menu" whatsoever.

Any help on this matter will be most appreciated.

Fix this bug ASAP - I can't get to any new sites on FF 98.0.1 since it updated yesterday! Need to go to the link I clicked in an email in a new tab. URGENT! On a MacBook Pro. Has worked fine for years, til this update yesterday.

This problem appears on MacOS 10.13.3 but NOT Linux Mint 19.3 (Tricia).

Repeat-by:

2. Now click on "Live Updates", which is the top entry in the middle column of that page, and as of 3 April 2022 11:20 AM EDT takes you to:

On MacOS, that page loads and is momentarily visible; then the page/tab it's loaded in goes blank. On Linux, that page loads as expected and remains visible.

Notes:

The problem did not happen with Firefox 88.0.1/MacOS.

The problem does not happen with Firefox 98.0.2/Linux, i.e., it appears to be specific to MacOS.

The problem remains whether extensions are enable or disabled (one a time or all at once).

The problem remains after the cache has been flushed and pages have been reloaded.

The problem remains after Firefox has been (completely) shut down and (cleanly) restarted.

The problem does not happen with Chrome/Chromium on either MacOS or Linux.

The problem also happens on *some* other pages on CNN's site (but not all) and on *some* (but not all) pages of other sites but there doesn't seem to be a pattern that explains which URLs exhibit it and which don't. This suggests that it's not privacy settings or extensions or anything like that, because there's no reason for those to vary from page to page within any one site.

If I'm VERY fast on hitting the "X" that stops a page loading/rendering while in progress, and I get the timing just right, I can catch it before the page/tab goes blank. So it appears that Firefox is in fact fetching all the content and can render it, but then for some reason is blanking the page/tab once that's done.

The attached screenshot shows what the problematic page (from step 2 above) looks like on Linux. On MacOS it's blank, so I didn't include a screenshot of that.

In most of the apps running on MacOS, you have inside the standard "Window" top menu, a lot of options, like: - Minimize - Zoom - Tile Window to the Left - Tile Window to the Right - Move to <monitor name> ... ...etc

In Firefox (I'm using developer version, 103b), we only get the first 2 options (minimize and zoom). I have set shortcuts to easy move my windows around my monitors, but they don't work in Firefox, because those shortcuts relies on the presence of the menu option "Move to <monitor>".

Is it by design, or is there a way to get this option in the Window menu? I'm attaching the menu clip from Chrome and Firefox to illustrate the issue.

When working in a Service Desk website, trying to drag an email attachment from Outlook into the attachment field of the webpage does not work. The attachment field responds as though it will work, but then no attachment appears. Downloading and dragging the attachment from the desktop DOES work, but the client wants to be able to just drag from the email directly.

I have tested the same procedure in Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Edge and they all work, so the problem must be Firefox. Version: 102.5.0esr (64-Bit)

The client will temporarily use Edge, but Firefox is the preferred browser, so I really hope you have a suggestion.

Addendum: As I stated in my answers to the two replies that I got, this problem is occurring on Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2 - 19045.2364 and with macOS Big Sur 11.7.2 (personal computer).

I upgraded Firefox to the latest version on the macOS yesterday, but the problem persisted. I also upgraded Firefox on one of the Windows machines here at the University, but again, the problem persisted. Later, I will upgrade Firefox on a Windows machine not connected to the university's network, just to make sure.

I just discovered something interesting as I tested dragging the email attachment from web-based email accounts - personal outlook, work outlook and gmail that were accessed from Chrome, Edge and also from Firefox. Dragging and Dropping the email attachment into the form did not work on any of the browsers.

If there is anything that I can do to help with the troubleshooting process, please let me know.

All the many links online to info on how to fix it is the same and none of it works. So it must all be part of the scam. Fucking horseshit. Can I say that?

Error code 242632 "The video cannot be played on this browser"

I recently moved from Chrome to Firefox. When I use Firefox on Ubuntu 22.04, I can access my passwords freely. However, when I use it on macOS Monterey, it does not work. Page about:logins shows no logins and passwords but only a small little warning bar in the upper corner that says that I need to login with my OS password (see Firefox asks for authentication (password, voice, face or fingerprint) when accessing passwords _{fixed link to kb article. aw}). However, when I click the small "Connexion" button in the notification bar, nothing happens. I have no pop-up/prompt, neither on the system nor on the web page, to allow me input my credentials. I tried after reinstalling Firefox on my Mac but nothing changed.

Do you know how this problem can be fixed? Thank you, and sorry if it is a duplicate.

please tell how how to turn off "battery drain" notifications on Mac IOS...it is annoying and there seems to be nothing to turn off when i search settings. (firefox version 109.0.1)

Hi all, I'm having an issue that I've seen mentioned over several years and without a workable solution - I'm at the point of having to transfer all my browser usage to chrome and abandon my beloved firefox. The issue has been 'answered' by advanced users to tell people to 'inspect' which font is the issue then check local systems font book for corrupted/duplicate fonts: however this is not a satisfactory response. Context: see screen shot attached for what the jibberish looks like, and a point in the 'inspect' view that I believe (guessing) is involved. System: Firefox 112.0.2 (64-bit), MacOS 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) on Macbook Pro (13-inch, 2020, 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5). This same websites do not have any issue on the same computer viewed on Chrome or Safari. Nor is there any problem on my iPhone on the iOS firefox browser.

Firstly this is not a user-friendly solution for most people, I'm afraid. Opening the inspect viewer is mindboggling for anyone who doesn't code and even for people who do some programming but not for websites (like me), it isn't exactly self-explanatory. I think I've managing to find examples that indicate 'Roboto' seems to be consistently involved in the display issue. Secondly, the step for 'fixing' the font that is the culprit - my local system indicates that all fonts are valid and there are no duplicates. I haven't installed manually Roboto as I'm uncertain where to 'safely' get the font from and my computer is owned and managed by my workplace - with overly strict administration/security rules so if I f-up a download of something dodgy my IT service will blacklist me and revoke my admin access... ** which would mean I'd be unable to do my job!**. I wondered if perhaps there is some security setting due to that, which stops website from loading the fonts they choose? From previous 'solutions' it said that having Firefox preference set to "allow websites to choose their own fonts..." should mean the websites can load as needed. If indeed I must manually download fonts for each and every instance that Firefox fails to display text legibly that is equivalent to Firefox being unusable. I'm clearly frustrated and it's because I love FIrefox and the ethos behind it all so leaving for Chrome would be very sad indeed! Help and a solution for normal users would be so very much appreciated. Also where can I properly lodge this issue with peeps who fix things? There are issues of this kind going back years and for both Windows and Mac Systems so it's not a one-off problem but a recurring one! I get redirected to yahoo so I thought I could just check the add-ons to look for malware. No add-on showed up in Firefox. I guess I have to find the file somewhere in my Finder but I found nothing in LaunchDaemons, Application Help or any other folders where it might be located. Some people on the internet said that you should look in prefs in Firefox but there is not anything suspicious. How can I delete the redirect virus?

i accidentally installed the latest update not realizing it will not be compatible with my iOS 10.11.6 operating software. Can I reverse this and go bak to using the browser version I was using prior to this update?

So, firstly Instagram stopped working on Firefox browser. I checked and installed latest update, cleared cookies and restarted, still not working. Now Squarespace is doing the same thing. I can't save anything on the site once I have made changes. I have followed Squaresapce trouble shooting with cache etc but this hasn't helped. I'm guessing it's somewhere in the settings but I am not great with computers! So if anyone can help I'd be VVV gratefull! Clare
