I was really shocked and horrified to see Firefox place the Qatari regime's propaganda mouthpiece on my home screen. The Qatari regime is one of the worlds worst abusers of human rights. It allows no political parties, tolerates no criticism, and severely punishes online dissent. It has absolutely no LGBQ rights, is deeply misogynistic and antisemitic and uses slave labor extensively. Additionally, it is a known supporter of extremism and terrorism. It is not OK to push their propaganda outlet on the front page.

I have unchecked Sponsored Shortcuts, but I still am seeing sponsored shortcuts added to my dashboard whenever I open a new article. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

I have a situation - which I had previously researched and resolved - that has come back to haunt me.

I use an ultra-widescreen monitor and searching/browsing obviously necessitates a center-screen search box which, up until now, Firefox has provided cleanly and with simplicity. However, I see that (once again) despite cursor placement in the center-screen box the search text is being entered in the address bar which is wholly impractical for me since I have to look about 60 degrees left and upwards to see what I am typing.

I say "again" because when this happened previously I was able to make a config change and resolve it but despite that still being in effect - the ".handoffToAwesomebar" is still set to FALSE - search text now has moved back to the address bar.

A brief search of this community yielded no answers. Is there any other known fix or has this now be thrust upon us permanently and thou shalt adapt?

Thanks in advance....

Dear Mozilla, I have enjoyed Firefox and I always appreciated the vast headline stories recommended in the past. Recently, there seems to be a change where every recommended article requires a paid subscription, i.e. Slate Plus, I already pay WAPO, NYT, WSJ, San Diego Union Tribune, Arizona Republic that i cannot afford to pay each and every website. I would be very happy if you could tell me where in my settings i can set it to show only free articles or perhaps my screen could show a little green dollar sign saying if article was behind a paywall. thank you for your time in reading and assistance. How do I get searches (my default is Google) to STOP going to the address bar? This started out of the blue and it is making me crazy. I don't want to be asked which search to use, and I don't want it to search in the address bar. I want it in the search box. Thanks.

Hi, I am getting error "Oops, something went wrong loading this content".

I downloaded firefox 148.0 x64 (from your webpage) on my new windows 11 PC. After setting up for a barebone firefox. I set "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.search.useHandoffComponent" to FALSE to have searches NOT USE address line and that is when I get "Oops..." error. My setup always worked on my Win10 system, can you help?
