You don't have to log onto Firefox. Firefox is simply a web browser, just like Internet Explorer. All you have to do is double-click it and open it. It's just like Internet Explorer. If you have some sort of extension password protecting your Firefox, that is different and you'd have to contact the extension developer.

Normally Firefox doesn't require a password. Do you want to change the password for a particular website such as your home page?
Thanks. If Facebook does not require a password, how does one log in from an internet cafe? My real concern is that somewhere I once did have a Facebook login password, and that the mess with Linkedin compromised it.
If you used the same password for both LinkedIn and Facebook, you probably should change both passwords. If you forget your passwords, you can reset them on those sites, assuming you still have control of the email account you gave them.
You are so right. I did change my LinkedIn login password. And I did change my Facebook login password. But when I set out to change my Firefox login password, I discovered that I did not know how to change my Firefox login password. That's why I'm asking for help: How do I change me Firefox login password?
Firefox doesn't have a login password.
Firefox only uses the master password to protect and encrypt the passwords that are stored in the password manager.
Did you download Firefox from the official Mozilla server?
If not then uninstall or delete the program folder of the current installation and reinstall Firefox.
You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
- Firefox 13.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Thanks. I did download Firefox from the Mozilla webpage. How is it possible for people to login to Firefox from, say, Internet cafe computers, if Firefox does not demand a password?
What do you mean with login to Firefox?
Do you need to enter a password when you start Firefox?
Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Many thanks; now I understand. Phew. One fewer problem.
Many thanks, cor-el. Turns out I was seeking a solution to a non-problem.
i want to change the password that i have for the mozilla firefox community help forum. i generated a random password because i did not get the promised mozilla email with a new password. when i come into the forum, i cannot find a link or anything that tells me how to change my forum password HERE, at THIS website...
which is sorta counterintuitive, don't you think?
techee.gal,
If you want to change the login password that you have for THIS community help forum, click on HOLD THE MOUSE POINTER OVER your name at the top of this page while logged in, and then click on the "EDIT PROFILE" option that appears in the drop-down menu. There is an option there to change your password (I haven't tried it myself but it should allow you to change your password).
If you have problems doing that, visit https://support.mozilla.org/forums/contributors and post a new thread with "ATTN: Admin:" in the title, to get the attention of an administrator, and explain the problem.
