When I start firefox, the same page I was on last time keeps appearing and in the options, it said that the homepage should start up.

Well, when I start Firefox this is what happens: First, the update windows takes 5 seconds to check for updates. Next, Firefox starts but the page that was last open last time comes up again and the welcome to Firefox page comes up also. Finally, I close the page and go to Google since I wanted Google but it gives me other pages that I didn't put in the settings. Please help
