Firefox works on and off frequently

Been this way for several weeks and it's VERY annoying. Okay so I'm browsing the internet and suddenly out of nowhere Firefox stops responding for about 10 minutes and then it works again. And approximately 30 minutes later the same thing happens, and repeat.

I disabled ALL extensions and add ons and it didn't help my issue at all.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

It is possible that Firefox can't access some files in the Firefox Profile Folder properly because they are monitored by security software.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files
