Why can't I send photos from my computer when thunderbird keeps saying / see below under How can we help?

thunderbird keeps stating the following: Sending of the message failed. There was an error attaching My 2nd photo spraying P1080183.JPG. Plese check that you have access to the file.

I get this on the 3 pictures I took myself. What is wrong with your system now? Is this an AI problem? Why am I getting questioned on my pictures now??? Very irritating since no one can answer this simple question.

Pictures are of my area / since I can't find any version number for Thunderbird / but it is updated always it is the most current when AI is present

What is your operating system?

Where are the pictures you're trying to attach located?

AI has nothing to do with it.

Thank you Lin, I have the old Windows 10 and it is not upgradeable due to the fact that the Computer Gurus who had to replace my hard drive put in the cheapest form of Windows 10 they could...I do not want anything else now and that was not the problem... The pics I wanted to attach and finally was able in sending them in a 2nd email that did not contain anything from the first email. They are on my computer and were taken by my camera and sent just like I always do....I did supply the version of Thunderbird to you also in the first email. I always update it.

So I am confused why this sometimes comes up periodically as I can't find anything that would cause that.... I hope it doesn't continue though as this is the first time I had to spend over 2 hours trying to send everything in just one email...Thunderbird would not even save my email as a Draft on this one and that is the first time that has happened. Possibility Thunderbird was compromised??? Kind Regards, Charlotte

Reasons Thunderbird might complain about the image:

- If it's stored in a place that it didn't have access to, like in \Program Files, or \Windows, or another of other locations protected by the OS.

- If it were in use by another program, including image viewers or editors.

- Similarly, it were being scanned by your Anti-Virus. Some of those are especially bad about letting go of the file once it's done, if it ever does.

- If you were dragging it from another program that was actually displaying a temporary copy that was deleted in the meantime. This could include dragging from one email to another.

- If you were experiencing disk corruption. This will happen to all hard disk drives eventually and you should keep an eye out for the signs, one of which is files that fail move and copy operations.

- Email services usually have message size limits. If you are attaching many large images, your email may be hitting that limit.

It's extremely unlikely that Thunderbird was "compromised" in a way that would result in this. Especially if you installed it from an installer downloaded from the official thunderbird.net source. Nobody would bother, even if they had access to the computer. It would be pointless.
