Clicking the "cloud icon" ("get all new messages") does not get all accounts

If you right-click on the cloud icon, you can select "Get all new messages" – this will retrieve new messages from all accounts that you are logged into (See also https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/get-all-mail-button-for-tb78)

Yes that works. But shouldn't that be the deafult action when you click the icon?

So, now we right click the cloud icon and select a logged into account to have the rotten thing work !!??

I am seriously ticked off with the apparent degradation of Thunderbird 1540.0esr

When I click on 'get messages, icon or the 'get messages' wording I expect it to function, as it has ....forever.

I note complaints in many and various forms all over this site and those complaints are steadily growing right across the internet.

Heads up TB. Time to emerge from the hole in the sand.
