Download progress icon now faulty

Since the last update I can no longer see download progress or click to see my downloads, why?

I now have to menu navigate to get to the setting I used to us and want,

I assume this means the download icon is not in your toolbar. You can add the icon to your toolbar via the application menu (three horizontal lines) -> More tools -> Customize toolbar... Then drag the download icon to the toolbar and click on "Done".

No that is not what I am saying. The icon is there as it has always been it is just that it now unfunctional, when clicked nothing happens. To get further I have to now go to settings then downloads – this was an enhancement after the last update.
