Hi, I'm running Firefox 118.0.1 on Ubuntu 23.04, with no plugins and extensions disabled. In gmail, if I type into the search box, gmail shows an instant set of search results as a drop down list from the search box. The problem is that if my mouse happens to be over where that list appears, then often, once the list appears, subsequent keystrokes are misinterpreted as keyboard shortcut commands, rather than additional characters to add to the text in the search box (the focus is on the search box while I'm typing). This doesn't happen in Chrome, but I'm not sure if it's a Firefox or Gmail issue. Anyone else see this? Josh

It works for me with Firefox 119.

How often does this happen and what are the steps needed to reliably reproduce it? Does the cursor need to be hovering over anything in particular?

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?

Just checked and yes, it still happens in troubleshoot mode. To reproduce: 0. enable gmail keyboard shortcuts if not enabled 1. refresh/open gmail to the main page (that lists your inbox messages). 2. place mouse over any message (it may not matter where the mouse is) 3. type '/' - it moves the input focus to the gmail search box 4. type 'o' (lowercase letter O) - you should see 'o' appear in the search box and a list of messages matching appear below the search box. What sometimes instead happens is the input box looses focus and instead the 'o' is interpreted as the command to open the first email message (or whichever message has the vertical blue bar on its left). Sometimes I have to hit backspace-then-'o' a few times before it misinterprets the 'o'.
