Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?

Is this with Firefox? or Thunderbird?

Same problem here. I am using TB and FF. Can receive msgs normally,but my outgoing email keeps timing out. I get the following when I try sending. Sending of the message failed.The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.shaw.ca timed out. Try again. Another volunteer troubleshooter on this channel and I have pretty much run out of ideas. Shaw Webmail and Hotmail work,but I prefer TB.
