Video playback was aborted to a network error.

more options

Hi all.

I've been struggling to find a fix for "Video playback was aborted to a network error." errors I'm getting.

I'm using my own file-server trough Micro Focus Vibe 4.0.6 and sharing videos from it to my company's Intranet website as links and putting the links in description tags. And it was working for couple of years. The last time I've uploaded and shared a video was in this year March and everything still worked, didn't have the errors if I converted the video type to *.ogg file type. But now I can't find a fix even to this.

For tests I've tested the videos on other browsers aswell, MS Edge and Google Chrome, the videos work fine and play with no errors trough the end (one video 2h long). Tried a little stress test to see if the up/down internet speed is the problem on the server and on the receiving end on Edge & Chrome, but no problems there.

I'm using 32-bit Firefox 89 now, can't go to 64-bit, even though I'm testing on the 64-bit browser now too with no result. Tried the common fixes with Windows Media package, disabling browser extensions, clear chache, cookies and history.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Hi, thanks for the reply. But unfortunately the safe mode/ troubleshooting mode for Firefox didn't resolve the issue. I ran the browser in safe mode, then cleared all the cache data etc, but the video still stops playing after 1 or 2 minutes in for the *.ogg and for the *.mp4 video files.

I've added a screenshot from the developer tools, Network section, Responses. It shows 'Response has been turncated' for the video file Method GET has status 200 green (OK).

'Response has been truncated' doesn't mean anything. This is about displaying content that is too big (536 MB) to fit in the window, so only a small part is shown encoded as base64. I don't know the actual size of this .ogg file, so I don't know if this is about the file not being complete or a problem with playing the file.

The video actual size is about 350MB (*.mp4 type), but i can't to get it to play it too. The *.ogg file is at 536MB 2 hours long. I've got a video 2 minutes long that is about 100MB large and it plays like a charm (*.mp4).
