Why can I no longer access Firefox via email links after the 54.0 update. Clicking on a link now only takes me to a blank page that locks up.

When ever I click on a link in Eudora I am taken to a blank page on Firefox. The status indicator icon then continues to spin and the page seems to be locked up. If I enter a url to attempt to go to another page, nothing happens. If I open another tab an attempt to access another page, the results are the same. If I close all pages and then reboot Firefox it will go back to working as normal. This occurs every time I click on a link in my offline email client and it started happening after the Firefox v54.0 update.
